Fun fact: This is my “events” shirt. Anytime I know I’m going to get my picture taken, and it will end up on Facebook, this is my go-to shirt. I don’t know why.

Wal-Mart. Oh yeah, Wal-Mart shopper for LIFE.
Fun fact: I constantly get asked what I need protecting from when I wear this shirt. People suck.
Cliff in Control: Degenerating DX
http://www.wrestlingnewsarena.com/2009/10/cliff-in-control-degenerating-dx/

A solid week of rain has led me to play fantasy booker for the most unlikely scenario I’ve presented so far.
The team of Triple H and Shawn Michaels has once again returned to take the Raw scene by storm. They hardly ever wrestle on free TV, but that hasn’t stopped them from making just about the entire two hours all about them somehow. After they finished picking apart Legacy, they set their sights on the hottest team going in WWE right now, JeriShow. DX have never been tag champions before, and they appear poised to change that little fact. As much of a fan as I am of Hunter and Shawn, though, I’d like to see this whole DX tandem put to rest sooner rather than later. How to go about doing that, you ask?
In the past, DX has been split up by two methods, and two methods only. One, an injury. First, it was Shawn’s back, and then it was Triple H’s quadricep. Two, a Triple H heel turn, and only a Triple H heel turn. No one turns on Triple H, he turns on them. This time around, I’d like to see something different. Let’s turn the scenario on its head, and make good ol’ HBK the villain. Why not?
I’d go so far as to make the claim that the seeds were planted this past Monday night on Raw. With Shawn being forced to stay home to tend to a sick offspring, Triple H spent the entire episode making tongue in cheek jokes about Michaels, and they even went ahead and had Hornswoggle come in, and mock HBK. While turnabout is indeed fair play (who can forget the original incarnation of DX bringing out the little person dressed as the Hit Man?), this appeared to not sit well with Shawn, not to mention the internet wrestling community.
The next step would be to have Shawn appear next week on Raw, not at all pleased about what went down in his absence. The turn wouldn’t be immediate, and you can even have him appear to work things out between himself and Hunter. After all, in order to turn someone as worshipped as Shawn Michaels, you can’t have him just acting out all of a sudden. Come Bragging Rights (stupid name, average concept), have Team SmackDown shock DX’s Team Raw, leading to further turmoil between DX.
As Hunter and Shawn bicker about whose failure it was, Shawn should walk out on Raw yet again. In his absence, Triple H again goes too far in his ribbing of Shawn, and this will be the final straw. At Survivor Series, DX will once again captain a losing team of some kind, probably losing to a Legacy or JeriShow led team. At this event, Shawn will fully turn on Triple H, costing them the match, their partnership, and perhaps their friendship.
A Survivor Series turn may seem a bit soon, but I don’t want to see the two of them square off at WrestleMania. I think it’s better suited to boil until the Rumble, or thereabouts. Besides, we all know Mr. Helmsley can’t be at ‘Mania without feuding for the title. Anyway, I know this has little chance of happening in any universe be it the WWE or otherwise, but this is what happens when you’re cooped up at home due to rain for five straight days.

Nixon alert!
DX promo from last night’s tapings. The dark match was DX and Cena vs Legacy. Too bad not many will ever see this.
DX and Vince on the same team? A-wha?
DX v Legacy was WAY better than I anticipated. That’s how you legitimize Legacy.
DX on a tank! That takes me back…
I like DX as much as the next guy, but sitting through these videos for the 4th time is getting tedious.

Cliff in Control: Legitimizing Legacy
by Cliff Rushing
As we head toward SummerSlam, WWE Champion Randy Orton’s lackeys of Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase appear to finally be gaining some momentum. After all, they’re sort of co-headlining SummerSlam since they’re facing the tandem known as D-Generation X. As this is Shawn Michaels’ big return to WWE, I look for Legacy to get squashed. Don’t get me wrong, it won’t seem like a squash as it’s happening. I’m sure they’ll get some offense in, and have DX on the ropes for a time, but I can’t see them winning this match. I’d say there’s no way, and that’s really too bad. In order to lay a foundation for the future, and create new stars as Vince McMahon allegedly wants to do, Legacy needs to go over here.
It would make zero sense to most fans, though. After all, who exactly have Rhodes and DiBiase beaten at this point without some outside help? Hornswoggle and Bob Holly. That’s about it. Therefore, if they were to win at SummerSlam somehow, they’d most likely be met with stunned silence and the sound of scratching heads. Of course Triple H and Shawn Michaels will beat them, why wouldn’t they?
In order for them to win, I do think you employ some outside help. I know I just said that Rhodes and DiBiase need to be built up, but hear me out. Almost all of the great stables of the past won by cheating, and Legacy hasn’t been so different up to this point. The only problem has been that Orton is the only one doing any of the winning. The solution is simple: add a new 4th member to Legacy. Most stables from the past had four guys in it. Evolution and the Horsemen spring to mind. This move would work wonders for a 2nd generation Superstar who is doing nothing right now, and just happens to be in the Raw locker room right now.
Legacy needs Carlito.
He’s already working as a heel, he’s got ability and charisma, he fits the next generation requirement, and the main event rub from Orton could be just the thing to finally light the fire under him to push him to the next level. A lot of internet fans have been waiting for years for Carlito to put it all together and make the leap, and this gives him an opportunity to do just that. It wouldn’t even be that hard to insert him into the picture.
Next week on Raw, cut backstage to Orton’s locker room. Have Rhodes and DiBiase complaining about how unfair it is that they have to face DX at SummerSlam. Orton should tell them not to worry, that he has a contingency plan in place to take out Hunter and Shawn once and for all. When they ask him what it is, have him stalk off like he normally does. This will generate even more buzz around the match, as all the announcers will wonder what Orton has up his sleeve. At the actual event, have a ref bump take place (remember those?). DX will have the match won for all intents and purposes, but there will be no one to make the count. Carlito will run down the ramp, and nail Shawn with a Backstabber (after all, he has a bad back as it is), and take Triple H out of the equation somehow. Have Legacy crawl to the cover, and pick up the dirty win.
Over the coming weeks and months, you can have Carlito in a singles feud with Shawn (you know those matches would be good), and build some tension and jealousy within Legacy. Orton will finally have a worthy counterpart who has proven himself in singles competition in the past. Even with an impending DiBiase turn, the addition of Carlito would legitimize, and add legs to the Legacy stable and storyline.
New Merch
JUST when I decide I don’t have it in my budget to get any more shirts, they release a new CM Punk one for the first time in nearly a year, and it’s AWESOME. FUCK.

And, of course, DX reunion means new shirt. I don’t think it’s all that great, but to each their own.
