Fun fact: We were learning about manifestos in a class of mine 2 semesters back. I was wearing this shirt. The professor noticed, and had me stand in front of the class facing away while the rest of the class read the Jericho Manifesto. I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE PROUD.

The story behind this one is AWESOME. Okay, so they debuted the shirt at the event. Otherwise, I would have ordered it beforehand. Anyway, we’re driving to Pittsburgh in a fucking blizzard. My friend SWERVES INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC by mistake (the road was slippery as all hell). We narrowly escaped with our lives. I was told later that I screamed, “SAVE US, Y2J” as it was happening. Go figure. No deities for me, just Chris Jericho.

– Slam Wrestling has a great interview up with Chris Jericho. Jericho says that WWE would not be able to pull off a “brand split” because they simply do not have enough star power.
When WWE created the Raw and Smackdown brands in 2002, the company had two complete roster of top stars following the acquistions of WCW & ECW. Jericho notes that he is scouting young talent to see who will be the next generation of top stars.
“We have some young guys that are ready to grasp it and there are other guys that aren’t,” he said. “They’re going to have to speed up the process a bit.”
Jericho says that wrestlers such as John Morrison, Dolph Ziggler, Cryme Tyme, Legacy, Evan Bourne & Sheamus are all on the verge of stardom. Yet other stars such as Jack Swagger, The Miz, and Kofi Kingston are wrestlers who “are going to have to start becoming more of a presence.”
“So now is the time, we need these guys to step up and the thing is too, is you say step up, step up, step up, but some guys just aren’t capable; they’re not ready because they don’t have the experience yet,” Jericho said. “But as long they are improving every week, and those are guys that I kind of see as being the next wave of the company, when my generation of guys is retired or not at the same level as we are now.”
