    About the Site

    Cliff Rushing, 22, McLean, VA

I am absolutely, horribly, and utterly obsessed with, and addicted to, pro wrestling. This blog serves as a place for me to share some insights into the world of wrestling as I see it because, let's face it, I can't share them with a majority of the outside world. I will review the latest happenings in WWE, and TNA on some occasions.

I will also be sharing a decent amount of personal stories and the benign minutia that is my life. I have few creative outlets, and this is really all I have.

So, in short, I hope to share my love of wrestling and whatever else with anyone else who happen to be as hopeless as I am.

You can contact me at vertizontal@gmail.com for questions, complaints, suggestions, etc.

    Pay-Per-View Review: Survivor Series

Punk eliminating Truth was the highlight of my night.

This will just be a quick overview with some live notes from my experience thrown in. It was a good show, but I don’t feel like watching it again to get extended thoughts or anything like that.

    Results:

    * Team Miz d. Team John Morrison; Survivors: The Miz, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre
Notes: The Miz had some serious heat, which is good to hear. He’s got a chance, after all. Crowd loved Morrison’s team, and were legitimately mad they lost. I liked about everyone in that match except for Finlay and Drew.

    * Batista d. Rey Mysterio by ref stoppage
Notes: Awesome stuff. Crowd seemed about 75-80% behind Batista, which was shocking. I ate that shit up. I hate Rey. Some dude in front of me was absolutely losing it over what Batista did. “Batista’s a punk! Show Rey some goddamn respect!” If I’m a mark like that when I’m 50+, you have to promise to kill me. When everyone was chanting, “One more time!” at Batista, I was chanting, “Five more times!” I wanted Batista to kill him. And I hated Batista not even 6 weeks ago. Goes to show I’m as much of a mark, but I go the other way and love my heels.

    * Team Kofi Kingston d. Team Randy Orton; Sole Survivor: Kofi Kingston
Notes: I hate R-Truth. I hate him so much. I fully expected him to eliminate punk in about 10 seconds. When the script flipped and Punk took his ass out, I fucking lost it. I marked, what can I say? Standing up, and yelling at the top of my lungs, “WHAT’S UP NOW? HUH? HUH?” as kids shot me glares was awesome. Tremendous stuff. Crowd loved Kofi. A lot. Good for him. Guess he’s next.

    * The Undertaker d. Chris Jericho and Big Show in a triple threat match to retain the World Heavyweight Championship
Notes: Second to Truth getting his ass beat, booing Taker was my favorite part of the night. Everyone except me at these things unabashedly loves that idiot, so I love booing him so much. I knew he’d win, but it was still disappointing. Seeing Big Show shadow boxing in person was high comedy. Grabbed a picture of it.

    * Team Mickie James d. Team Michelle McCool; Survivors: Mickie James and Melina
Notes: Kill the Diva division. No one cares. Even I felt bad for wanting to watch. Horrendous. Got a good picture of Mickie’s butt, though.

    * John Cena d. Shawn Michaels and Triple H in a triple threat match to retain the WWE Championship
Notes: Funny thing that I don’t know made it on camera was when DX was throwing their glowsticks out into the crowd. On Triple H’s last toss, he hit the lighting rig above the ring, and it bounced back toward him. He shushed the front row as if to say “You saw nothing.” Pretty funny. Crowd LOVED it when HBK superkicked Hunter to open the match. We went apeshit. Cena winning disappointed many, but none of the kids, and that’s what counts.

Bottom line: 7.5/10. Not bad. Would have liked to see a title change, but what can you do?

Bonus note: Dark match - Santino Marella d. Chavo Guerrero by pinfall. Pfft.
